Planning a trip for to Florida for a tarpon fishing charter April-August is the tarpon season. During prime Tarpon season I do two trips daily May-July, Capt. Andy Boyette is a full time guide and fishes from a 2400 Skeeter boat equipped with first class tackle and all the necessary fishing license. He is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain, is a member of the Burnt Store Marina Fishing Guides Association, the Florida Coastal Conservation Association. Capt Andy is centrally located on the Charlotte Harbor and has pickup arrangements at numerous docks from Ft. Myers, Sanibel, Port Charlotte, Boca Grande, Englewood, Pine Island and Captiva.

 Tarpon Fishing Season Florida

Starting in April as the tarpon begin flooding into the area. The back bays and Charlotte Harbor will play host thousands of tarpon, this is when we usually begin targeting tarpon on a daily basis. These fish will establish a pattern of movement from area to area. To insure are trips are productive we start targeting these fish as soon as they show. Setting up in various locations and chumming and live baiting the area. These trips in the early part of the season are spinning rod and sight casting trips and can be mixed up with a a flats and backcountry trip for snook red fish and other species.

As May approaches and the water temps get optimal these giant tarpon move into World Famous Boca Grande Pass. This is where all the fast paced action takes place as veteran tarpon guides and anglers converge on the pass for the next two months. This tarpon fleet will operate 24 hours a day in a truly phenomenal display of what is locally known as the Boca Grande Dance. Go Fish Charters and Guide service/ Capt Andy Boyette will shift in to high gear and fish from daylight till dark. With the long days I can do 12 hr trips 8hr trips or 6hr trips. The morning tarpon charter begins at 6am and last till noon. The after noon tarpon trip starts around 1pm till 7pm.

Best Times For Tarpon Fishing
